WE ARE family

Pier 23 Cafe is an iconic SF restaurant with deep family roots. The restaurant was started in 1985 by Flicka McGurrin, a sixth generation San Franciscan, and her childhood best friend, Peggy Knickerbocker. They took an old waterfront dive known for live music and revamped the place into a world class restaurant now celebrating over 40 years of business.

More recently, Flicka passed the baton to her kids: Mac, Meighan, and Lei to take over the “family business” and carry on the tradition of giving people good food & drinks served with an incredible view of the SF bay.  A beloved spot for locals and tourists, Pier 23 Cafe, is a respite from the city buzz - a warm and inviting place with a serene waterfront setting, delicious seafood centric menu and finely crafted cocktails.  No frills just real SF.  Locals bring out of town friends and family to Pier 23 Cafe to show off the beauty of the bay, to eat classic SF fare like our delectable clam chowder, shrimp louie salad, crab cakes, and to hear live music by top tier local musicians.  Tourists seek out the food and stay for the relaxed laid back vibe.

Pier 23 Cafe has been a destination for many lifetime memories for our patrons.  We've hosted weddings, family reunions, graduations, birthdays, startup milestones, our annual Howloween Doggie Costume Parade (yes, we’re dog friendly!), baby showers.  Pier 23 Cafe is a part of our family and a reflection of who we are: we love to bring people together, we love live music, we love the waterfront, we love good food, and we love San Francisco!
